Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away; Lengthen night and shorten day; Every leaf speaks bliss to me Fluttering from the autumn tree. I shall smile when wreaths of snow Blossom where the rose should grow; I shall sing when night’s decay Ushers in a drearier day.

about

Liście na Księżycu has come a long way before attaining its final shape. Back in 2015, when J decided it was high time to create his first solo album – Liście (Pol. for Leaves) – a collage of ambient and folk, he did not expect to find the company of M (project Skroń), the result of which was a great expansion of the initial concept into thus far unexplored musical regions. The EP released in 2016: Makrokozmosz és Mikrokozmosz – a 20 minute long space ambient escapade – was an unplanned child of the work over the debut album and proved to be the beginning of a completely new chapter. It was then that M&J found out that Leaves could also find their place on the Moon.

The titular Liście Na Księżycu depicts the idea of cosmonature – can you imagine a lone tree standing high on the Moon? This unreal image is the metaphore of the world in which, for the past 10 months, the members of Vysoké Čelo resided in. For centuries, mankind has been fascinated with the vastness of the Universe and the myth of extraterrestrial life, at the very same time being completely oblivious to the mysteries of nature of the Earth – even though it is connected with nothing else but the cosmic law of the Universe. The contents of the album enunciate the vision of the mutual influence of natural and cosmic aura. This is the truth that Liście na Księżycu reveals.

Liście na Księżycu’s music is constantly surrounded in the myst of secrecy. It is an album where the cosmic tunes of the 70s meet ambient, guitar folk, which led M&J to call it space folk. Liście Na Księżycu combines the admiration for music of Stara Rzeka and Steven R. Smith with Berlin electronic of Klaus Schulz and Tangerine Dream. Everything, of course, supevised by the ghost of Rapoon. However, Vysoké Čelo has chosen to use the ethereal estestic of the 90s instead of obscure dark ambient and heavy tribal drums. Nevertheless, connections to modern music and other genres of music such as post-rock are also to be found.
